Every year, Viva Media plc in collaboration with the ZDF-Television, the fastfood chain McDonalds and the communication enterprise Astra honour artists from home and abroad in 18 categories.
In 2000, there will be an award for "BEST ARTIST WEBPAGE" for the first time. Nominated are: David Bowie, Echt, Wyclef Jean, Guano Apes, Dr. Dre ... and the winner is ...

We were ever so pleased about the award which we took as a real compliment!

They made a lot of interviews with us and we won't certainly find out when most of them will be broadcast.

This is followed by three shots of the VIP stand. Blod Hound Gang, Reamonn and HIM for example were sitting behind us, German TV-stars in front of us, and we were surrounded by a lot of VIPs of the international show business...with us right in the middle. *ggg*

Here, Stefan once again "lets it all hang out", splashing everything with champagne – intentionally, of course – that’s why there’s hardly anybody in that row as everyone has fled – and Henning is glad all over...

What else have we got for you: a 20-minute-video with a failure of the mic (the excitement, it was only half plugged in). A pity, because Sandra was leading through the backstage area.
There are no pictures of the "red carpet" when the Apes got off their limousines dressed only with their underpants and when Dennis forgot to take his trousers with him and therefore spent the evening with a sheet wrapped around his hips.
We were sad that VIVA insisted on us playing BIG IN JAPAN and not our current single LIVING IN A LIE.
Afterwards, we had a party until about 5 am...

STATEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE COMET NOMINATION: Thanks for the compliment. And thanks to all those who have nominated this site! I am totally surprised and happy all over (see left).
Besides my countless jobs, I have always investigated, scanned, written and programmed for this website – very often all night long and over the years now – and we have managed to create the "phattest" site regarding contents and pictures. That's why I gladly accept this appreciation!

I feel that the fans deserve to find as much information as possible on an artist's site. This has always been my philosophy. Sure, I'm also often impressed by some flash animations, and if it serves information or art, I won't fight against it. But contents and speed of transmission must count first – and I think the feedback of the fans and the current nomination agree with me and are a little reward for all the bother!

Once again, my heartiest thanks for this appreciation of my work – and thanks to the Guano Apes who have always put so much trust in me over the years and who gave me a free hand to do for them as I please ... and thanks to all the fans here with whom I am in touch on a regular basis ;-)
